Privacy Policy
This policy describes how HELIOS Rclone accesses and uses Google user data.
Google data accessed
HELIOS Rclone requests the Google Drive drive.file scope. This allows the app to create and manage only Drive files that are used with the app. It does not request broad access to all files in the user's Google Drive.
How data is used
Google Drive access is used only to store and maintain encrypted off-site backups created by the user's self-hosted HELIOS server.
Encryption and storage
Backup filenames and file contents are encrypted locally before upload using rclone's crypt feature. OAuth credentials and refresh tokens are stored locally on HELIOS and are not intentionally transmitted to third parties other than Google as required for OAuth authentication and Google Drive API access.
Sharing and advertising
Google user data is not sold, rented, shared for advertising, or used to build advertising profiles. This application is for personal use.
Retention and deletion
Encrypted backup files remain in Google Drive until they are deleted by the user or by the user's backup-retention process. The user can revoke HELIOS Rclone's Google Account access at any time from Google Account security settings.
